Sugar Rush gets an Adore You Makeover!

Today, I would like to revisit this month’s Stamp of the Month, Adore You, to share some more fun designs inspired by the Workshops Your Way Sugar Rush Scrapbooking Kit. 

This kit is available for $41 until the end of the current Seasonal Expressions Idea Book. It is a beautiful kit and includes the required product to make at least 3 double page layouts as well as 9 optional cards in 3 different designs. The cards are beautiful and use the Sugar Rush - Cardmaking Stamp Set. Don't you just love these fun designs?

To shake things up a little bit, I decided to make one each of these cards, replacing the Sugar Rush stamps with stamps from the Adore You January Stamp of the Month! There is so much versatility in this stamp set and it can be used on countless card designs!

On the first card, I replaced the stamped doughnut image with a floral stamp from the Adore You Stamp of the Month. I coloured it with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers and I think the result is just beautiful!

On the second card, I made the focus of the card the sentiment. I replaced the original sentiment with "You will forever be my always" from the Adore You stamp set. The stark contrast of the pomegranate ink on the white daisy card base makes the card more interesting and draws attention!

On the third and final card design, I replaced the doughnut stamp with the beautiful heart featured in the Stamp of the Month. I stamped the image onto a pocket card leftover from the WYW kit to create a textured background before adding a little flare with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I think this technique of stamping on texture from pocket cards or even B&T Duos Papers is a wonderful way of making your stamped images really stand out!

Adore You- January Stamp of the Month

Today, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce you to the beautiful new January Stamp of the Month brought to you by Close To My Heart! This beautiful acrylic stamp set, Adore You, is designed to celebrate Valentine’s Day or any other occasion shared by loved ones. 

This stamp set is available only in January 2017 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more in a single order.

This stamp set features images which are perfect to be coloured using the Watercolour Pencils, Watercolour Paints or ShinHan Touch Twin Markers, all available from Close To My Heart.

My first project is a page inspired by Close To My Heart artwork using the January Stamp of the Month and paper from the Sugar Rush Paper Packet. The two go so perfectly together! The page uses yellow ombre B&T Duos paper, the donut B&T Duos paper, the words zip strip and a pocket card for journalling. 

The faux stitching effect is created using a black journalling pen around the edge of the yellow ombre B&T Duos paper to create an organic, homely feel for the layout.

The page was then embellished with stickers from the Sugar Rush Complements, Sugar Rush Washi Pack and Sugar Rush Dots. The main feature of the page is the beautiful heart from the Adore You Stamp of the Month paired with a fun heart cut from a pocket card using the Hearts Thin Cuts. 

My second project is a standard-sized card, designed to be simple and elegant. It features our gorgeous colour of the year, Sea Glass, as a base with another pocket card from the Sugar Rush Paper Packet mounted using 3-D Foam Tape on top (N.B. it is a good idea to mount the pocket card on White Daisy Cardstock before raising on the 3-D foam tape to add more stability). A sticker from the Sugar Rush Complements was cut and used as a banner for the :You make me happy" sentiment from the Adore You stamp set. 

The floral image was stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured using the CTMH Watercolour Pencils.  I then used the Small Round Waterbrush over the top of the pencil to give the flowers a painted finish.  The card was embellished with Sugar Rush Dots.
